SOME GOOD PERFORMANCES. (By Telegraph—Press Association). DUNEDIN, Dec. 16. Some fine swimming was witnessed at the Otago Championsips in Saturday night, especially on the part of juniors and intermediates. Geddes, the New Zealand junior boys 75 yards breast stroke and 220 yards champion, swam a great race winning the 100 yards Junior Boys Championship in 64 4-5 sec. which was 3 1-5 sec. better than the existing fresh water record and is the best time ever put up by a junior boy in New Zealand. Leslie Olds, won the 100 yds record for salt water, the time being 65 3-5 sec. Geddes won the 75 yds Junior Boys Breast Stroke Championsip in 59 4-5 sec, 1 1-5 sec. better than bis existing record. It was also one second better than bis New Zealand salt water record. In winning the 50 yds Junior boys in 38 2-5 sec., Geddes established a centre record there being no recognised New Zealand record for junior boys over this distance. In the intermediate girls 75 yards Breast Stroke Championship, Miss M. Mathieson swam over the distance alone and lowered her own New Zealand record of 65 4-ssec\, by four fifths of a second. She also won the 100 yds intermediate girls, free style event, comfortably in 78 4-5 sec. Bailey and Gilley dead-heated for first place in the 100yds in 65 3-5 sec., and Gilles won the 440 yds in 6 min 20 4-5 sec. after an exciting race. Calder the New Zealand mens champion was at the top of his form retain-< ing the mens diving championship from Walker.
