GOVERNOR-GENERAL. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Dec. 13. Yesterday evening the Governor-Gen-eral was the guest at a • Masonic gathering and was presented with an address from all Otago lodges, with a set of jewels for his Mother Lodge in Scotland.
Lady Alice Ferguson was enter - tained by twenty womens’ organisations and was presented with an address and a greenstone casket.
FATAL INJURIES
"WAIHI, December 13
Fatal injuries were sustained by Mary Elizabeth Bramble daughter of W. Bramble of Karangahake, when she was knocked down by a cycle ridden by a boy Leonard A. Nelson, while returning from school at Karangahake yesterday afternoon. The girl did not appear badly injuried but serious symptoms appeared some hours later and she died on the way to the Waihi hospital. LOCAL LOANS’ BOARD. WELLINGTON, Doc. 13. At a meeting of the Local Government Loans’ Board, 18 applications totalling £275,365 were dealt with, including 10 for renewal loans totalling £78,975. i Loans for £197,395 were sanctioned, the balance of £77,970 Iveing either«doclined or referred back to the local authority concerned for further consideration.
