DEMAND FOR ARBITRATION. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.), CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 12. Strong disapproval of the failure of the Government to give consideration to the claims of the rank and file of the, P. and T. service for salary adjustment, was expressed to-night by .a meeting of the North Canterbury section of thO P. .’arid T. Employees’ Association, and the resolution stated: in view of; recent political intriguing, whereby I officers were deprived of a long overdue iiitTease in salary, this section .is of opinion that little can be Qxpe'cfed from the pre-. sent Parliament as constituted, and recommends that salary increases ‘be adjusted by arbitration.” TIMARU, Dec. 12. The local section' of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ to-day ■carried the following resolution: — This meeting of the Timaru section of the Pest and Telegraph Employees’ Association congratulates the Members of Parliament upon the successful outcome of their salary problem, and reminds them that in the General Division of the Post and Telegraph Department, the salaries now paid are. not only inadequate, ibut shameful.”
