ITALY’S DECISION
TO SUPPORT ABOLITION OF THE SUBMARINE.) [United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] . ':)>*'■ ■ > LONDON, December 12. The Times correspondent at Rome says: It is understood that the Italian Government, after long and careful consideration, has decided to associate itself with the Anglo-American.'Gov-ernments in their advocacy . It is expected that the Foreign Minister, Signor Grandi, when the London once opens, will announce that if England and America are prepared to advocate such a policy' at the Geneva Disarmament Conference, Italy will co-operate. Italy has decided upon this policy regardless of what France and JapivwTnay decide to do. Italy admits that a universal agreement is necessary before the abolition of submarines can be realised, blit she is led to believe that her decision would influence the small Powers. It is thus hoped ; to assist in the ultimate realisation of the Anglo-American policy.
