TRIAL CRICKET TEST. A CLOSE FINISH. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, Dec. 10. The te,st trial cricket match was continued Jto-da,y. The weather was cooler. Four thousand were present. AVoodfull’s team in the second innings made 541. Bradman scored 225, Kippax 170, Allsopp 5, Rigg 9, Burrows 0, Ellis 24, Blackio 11, Hornibrook 1, Wall (not out) 2. Extras totalled 25. In the bowling, Grimmett took 7 for 173, Oxenliam 2 for 97, AlcCabe 1 for 42. Alexander, Whitfield, Marks and Ryder obtained no wickets. Ryder’s team in the second innings made 152 for eight wickets. McCabe made 46, Marks 14, Horrocks 5, Whitfield 19, Oxenham 4, AValker 9, Jackson 15, Alexander 8, Ponsford (not out) 8, and Ryder (not out) 9. Extras totalled 15. Stumps were then drawn.

The wicket was disclosing signs of wear to-day. Bradman showed restraint. He was not happy when facing Grimmett, who was particularly dangerous. Bradman went out leg before when he had added only 20 runs to his overnight total. Kippax played Girmmett carefully, but lie pasted the others. He rendered valuable help to his side. He gave t. couple of difficult chances.

Allsopp again failed with the bat, Rigg was unable to get going.

The remainder of AVoodfull’s side went cheaply. Ryder’s team with 188 to get to win, began their second innings late in the afternoon. As an experiment, Ryder tried using the oolts fii’st, but the deadly bowling of Blackie and Hornibrook accounted for them, one after another at ibrief internals, until the rot was stopped by the stalwarts, Ryder and Ponsford. AI.C.C. TEAAI. AYELCOAnED AT AYELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, Dec. 10. The Alarylobone Club’s cricket team arrived here to-day. They were tendered a civic reception, at which they were welcomed by the Deputy-Alayor., Air AI. F. Luckie, on behalf of the city. Hon. Harry Atmorc, Minister of Education, was the representative of the Government on the occasion, and Sir Francis Bell (President of the Wellington Cricket Association) was also present. The members of the AI.C.C. team made no secret of the fact that they have had a strenuous time in Australia, where, on wickets which were new to most of them, it was not easy to settle down. The injuries and the sickness to the members of the team meant a big handicap, and then there wals a great deal of traintraveiling, amounting to about 1000 miles per rnaten.
