McConacliy lias made 17,213, including breaks of 391 and 630. Newman (playing) lias scored 17,342, including breaks of 636 and 306. McConachy regained the lead in the afteinoon, totalling 1406 for that session, while Newman compiled only 232. The latter’s fine 636 in the evening, however, helped to give him a small lead at the end oif play.
