in connection with the recent Thames tele r-’m in reference to the ihsp-+ that is attacking.the'blackberry, Professor Emstfield, Director, pf the Cawthrop ..Institute, states tjiat all lie could say was.-that a very large, number of blackberries; suffering from various fungus and insect attacks had been forwarded to the Institute, from all parts of New Zealand, but up tp the present nothing, had turned up which was able to deal with the problem as a whole in any district. Without having Thames samples, before ,liim,i lie could not■ make any comment thereon.-
