LATE LOCALS.
Two or three competent bushfellers for South Westland are enquired for by Messrs M. Houston and Co.
A few slight earthquakes are still being felt in Westport ‘ and district, says the “News.” On Tuesday one was preceded by a booming noise, the shake that followed, however, being very slight.
The annual concert and ball of the Humphreys School took place at the One Mile Hall, Aralnira, last evening and was highly successful. There was a large attendance despite the unfavourable weather conditions and throughout tiie entertainment was most enjoyable. There was a varied programme, beach performer doing very well. At the conclusion of the concert a dainty home-made supper was served. The music for the dance was supplied by Ross’s Orchestra.
