TRIBUTE TO SIR GEORGE FENWICK. ; , LONDON. October 18. At the meeting of the-Council of the Empire Press Union yesterday the president (Major the Hon. J. J. Astor M.P.) said that on receiving the news of the death of Sir George Fenwick he had on behalf of the Council, sent a cablegram of. condolence to Lady Fenwick. As this was the first meeting of the Council since the announcement, itlicj '.members would wish to pass the formal vote of condolence. This they did standing and in silence.
Tha Imperiail Preissi {Conference Committee reported that 66 out of the. 100 delegates to the conference had been selected. South Africa and New Zealand had still to make their selections. The committee also submitted a tentative programme of tours. The delegates, are to meet on June 2nd. On June 10th it is proposed they should leave London lor Liverpool, where they will stay a night. A night will be spent at Harrogate, and on June 12th Fountains Abbev, Ripon, York, and Buxton will be visited. On June 13th it is proposed to leave Buxton by road and travel by way of Bakewell, Matlock. Chesterfield, Hardwick Hall, Chatsworth, Mansfield, Derby, Bur.ton-on-Trent, Lichfield, Stonebridge, 'Kenilworth, and Warwick, for Leamington <l2B miles). Oil leaving Leamington on the following day, the delegates are to travel by road to Stratforu-on-Avon, returning to Leamington for train to London.
A Scottish tour a week later is to include Glasgow, Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, Loch Katrine, the Trossachs and Gleneagles.
