SYDNEY, Nov. 25
The irieket match between the M.C.C. troun and New South Wales was continued to-day when tlie visitors carried their score• t0'469 from 177 lor 3 wickets, leaving New South Wales with a lead of 160 runs.
In a great partnership, yielding 269 runs, Woolley and Turnbull gave a delightful exhibition. The New South Wales bowling lacked variety, and Woolley scored all round tlie wicket. Turnbull, however, was very restained choosing only loose balls to score from. Upon attaining one hundred, lie was smartly caught by Bradman off bis own bowling. Wothington when 7, met similar fate, being smartly taken by Hooker, but Woolley went on to the double century. This is his sixth century on the Sydney cricket' ground, and the biggest total that he has made in Australia. A hard chance to the wicketkeeper, ■ Allsopp, who was' substituting for Oldfield, was bis only blemish. • - Rain caused short adjournments.
Woolley’s long innings' ‘oaine- to 'tin end shortly after tea. He was batting for- 224 minutes, and lie hit twentyfour fours.
Fairfax- secured two ■'wickets r, wi-tli successive halls. Two appeals by the same bowler, for leg before against Barratt, off the next two halls,- were however, disallowed.
Legge butted attract!Yaly 'before spooning a ball up to'square leg.
Bow ley is still unfit to play. Tlie New South Wales fielding was ragged. Fairfax and Jackson batted until (ho seventh appeal against the ligld was successful with 46 runs on the board. Scores:—
