This is a period of .the year when the use of gas for dofnestic purposes specially commends itself. Gas appliances now are designed ...for all classes of domestic Use, and there is great, variety as to size and i style. The cooker is a most useful appliance, being at ready , service at a moment’s notice, to boil or to bake, and is now coming into general vogue. The gas copper is also coming more and more into general use, nnd serves so many domestic purposes in the matter of supplying hot water in quantity at short notice. The heater is specially useful in the summer, dispensing with wood or coal fires on rt cool evening, and saving all the drudgery of cleaning away ashes in the morning. The new system for circulating hot water to all parts of the dwelling is now being generally installed in preference to steamheated water. The gas system is modern, nnd by the use of :a tiny bit of gas, hot water can be supplied at all hours of the day or night. It is a revelation in domestic convenience, and is worth enquiring nbout. Those installed locally are giving every satisfaction, for they meet every requirement. All gas appliances are procurable on terms, and where comfort is desired in the home enquiry as to cost should be made at the Hokitika Gas Works or from W. H. Shannan, gas-fitter, Revel! Street,
