A SHARP 'QUAKE
At 3.45 o’clock this morning a very sharp earthquake was experienced, one of the heaviest felt since the big one. It lasted several seconds and gave buildings a good shake but fas caused no damage.

Its coming was heralded by loud rumblings and houses were well shaken, crockery rattling and in some cases falling on the floor. The shake lasted'Jhe best part of a minute and finished with a nasty twist ing movement. Yesterday evening about II o’clock a
very loud, booming was heard, but no shake accompanied the noise. Many people are feeling nervous as the result of this morning’s shake.
