DISASTROUS HAILSTORM

HAIL AS LARGE AS EGGS. . (Australian Press Association) (Received this rlnv at 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 23. A disastrous hailstorm between Wauchopc and Port MacQuarrie ruined the crons, stripped the foliage from trees, killed sheep and poultry. The hail was as large as hen’s eggs. Pieces of ice like saucers also fell. A man working with a road gang was stunned by a jagged lump of ice. Too men were sheltering under a tree and the hail became so heavy they decided to find a fresh refuge. They had just moved when the tree was struck by lightning and reduced to matchwood. Hail was piled eighteen inches deep in many places.
