WELLINGTON, Nov. 20

Meantime the lion T. K. Sidey. Leader of the Legislative Council, and Attorney-General, will take temporary charge of the Defence Department.
This opinion expressed has no official foundation, 'according to inquiries made in Wellington to-day. There is good reason to believe that the Prime. Minister lias not yet considered the matter of appointing a successor to Mr AVilforcl.
