NEW YORK, Nov. 18.

Coolly selecting the fiat roof of a department store to land Isis aeroplane when the engine froze, Hob .Wark, a veteran pilot, saved the lives of three hoy scouts and himself, states a message from Seattle. When the engine stopped Wark realised lie could not reach the landing field, so he circled daringly and selected the great smooth roof of a store, and in order to avoid skidding overboard lie turned the plane on its side, wrecking it completely hut all four escaped with cuts. His crash broke the waterpipe which set going the emergency sprinkling system, wetting the store and automatically calling the Fire Department.
