The “Daily Mail” states: “The Board of Trade’s commercial returns from foreign ((ountries disclose the startling and disageeahle fact that.the German exports lor tile " first six months of; the year, of 1929, for the first time on record, exceed the exports of Britain. The German exports for the six months, were worth £371,000,(X)0 compared with Britain’s exports of £358,000.000. The German exports have increased by leaps and bounds. Britain is stagnant. Britain Before the war was the greatest exporting country in the world. The United States passed her in 1914, and is now first. Germany is second and Britain is third. Britain imports over half, the value of the manufacturers that she exports. Germany imports less than a quarter of the value she exports.
