For the second day of the Waikato races there was fine weather. The course and the attendance were good. Results :—>
: Matangi Hurdles. —(2) The Lamb 1, ,(1) Red Comet 2, (4) Waka King 3. Won by a neck; a length. Time 3.17. Frankton Handicap.—(l) Tehoia and (9) Antique dead heat 1, (5) Belle Star 3. A dead heat; third two and a half lengths away. Time 1.30. Ruakura Handicap.—(2) Karapoti 1, (9) Full Measure 2. (8) Biddy’s Boy 3.' Won by two and a half lengths; a neck. Time 1.3 1-5.
Hamilton Handicap.—(3) True Blood 1, (1) Prince Val 2, (2) High Pitch 3. Won by a nose; third 2* lengths away. Time 2.10 3-5.
Tauwhare Handicap.—(l) Sir Russell 1, (9) Macroom 2, (2,).Lunette.3. Hack Cup.—(l4) Luminary 1, (2) Kahn 2, (5) Storm Fiend 3. A lengtn each way. Time 1,43 3-5;) ;.i !. Kirikiriroa Handicap.—(2) Mervette 1, (7) Eagejf Rose 2, (3) Awahere 3. Won by half a length; a neck. Time 1.14 1-5.
Taupiri Handicap.—(3) Archieleen 1, (8) Whakama 2, (10) Oscar 3. Won by a short neck; third half a length away. Time 1.30.
The tote for the day took £36,053:}, an increase of £588; and for the meeting £56,730}, an increase of £3471.
