LONDON,, Nov. 15. The Times Riga correspondent says: The Soviet has begun a “New Purge” of untrustworthy officials, ten thousand of whom are (being dismissed be- • fore'May Day, including the majority of the former members of the intelli--1 gentsia and tbe bourgeoisie, whose places'' are being taken bv proletarians.- This action is ostensibly to end ' the widespread corruption in the fin- ; uncial and taxation departments, hilt it is chjefly because of the necessity ■ of -.bribing the most active malcontents, with official’ posts, and of removing them from the ranks of the i workers* where a spirit of revolt has developed owing to the recent curtailment of Trade Union authority, and to a. continued scarcity of food.
