COLLEGE BOUGHT
BY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Nov-. 13. Scots College, the Presbyterian Church College for Boys, has been sob! to the' Education Department, to 1>" used as a teachers’ training college. Scots College will close down, and cease to be, at the end of the present term, which is also the end' of the school year. The College has been in existence for thirteen years, for nine of them on the present site. The area contains 17 acres. At present attending the college there are 110 boys, about half of whom are hoarders. Jt is stated that, at present, the sending of trainees, from the Middle University District to the Christchurch or Dunedin Training College •is costing' the • Education Department £llOO per’ annum, owing to an insufficiency of, room at the Wellington Training College.
