CABINET’S STAND UPHELD
DISCLOSURE OF AN EMPIRE DANGER. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, Nov. 12. The “Daily Chronicle” in an editorial states:—“We are glad that Mr Ramsay MacDonald has stood firm and has refused to disclose the correspondence with the Dominions on the subject of relations with Russia. Since the war—and particularlys since 1926—it has become the accepted duty of the British Government to consult the Dominions about foreign policy. One moment’s thought would show that such a consultation could never he really fruitful, or secure unity of minds and wills, unless it were confidential. It will he said that this is a special case. If that plea is ever admitted, then consultation will simply collapse, and it will go far to bring down the whole edifice of the British Government.”
