WOOL OAMPAIGN

LONDON, Nov. 11
Sir Lawrence Weaver, addressing Bradford business men on the question of manufacturers co-operating in the Australian Buy More Wool Campaign, said the plan facing the English Advisory Comm'ittee would be to increase consumption without considering which sections of the trade would gain most from the increase. He insisted there must be positive propaganda in favour of wool, not an attack on other textiles. The task of educating the public as to the merits of wool was a large difficulty, but he was confident it would be accomplished.
COMPLAINT TO PREMIER
LONDON, Nov. 11
Air Baldwin to-day wrote to the Prime Minister pointing out Mr Wedgwood Benn had not answered his question whether the Viceroy’s declartion implied any change of policy or period in which a Dominion status might be attained. He admitted that the question had been answered .in the House of Lords but felt that the Leader of the House of Commons should also reply. Mr MacDonald replied that, the answer to both portions of the question is negative.

“The Times’s” Rome correspondent ■ states: The Fascist Party .is increasing its feminine section by the creation of Girl Fascists’ Corps units, which will he admitted to be full party members when twenty-two years of age.
SUIT CASE MYSTERY

In connection with a,' suit case mystery, detectives questioned Mrs Eva Prescott, residing at the village of Yarkhill, Herefordshire, concerning a diary found in the suitcase, with the hones of a woman. Airs Prescott said: “How the diary came to he in the place they found it is a. mystery. The diary'must have been stolen and used deliberately to involve me by someone with spite against me.”

EMPIRE TRADE COAIMISSIONERS
SIR, JOSEPH WARD TRIBUTED
LONDON, November 12
Mr Gillett,' a member of the Labour Ministry, addressing the Royal Empire Society, paid a tribute to Sir Joseph Ward, stating he was really the initiation of the system of Empire trade commissioners which was placed before the Imperial Conference of 1907. Mr Gillett stated personally he hoped to assist in ensuring their valuable information he increasingly disseminated.
