A FIRE STRIKE

The largest Chinese printing works in the. country, valued at several million dollars, were fired this morning. They were, situated outside the foreign settlement. It was only attended by a Chinese brigade which duly arrived at the spot and raised the question of the nonpayment of arrears of salary, refusing to do a hand’s turn. The fire burned for an hour and a half until a settlement was reached. The brigade is now busy extinguishing the fire.
