ALLEY HURTS VANCE

WELLINGTON, Nov. 12
In a most exciting wrestling conitest, Tom Alley (13st.) beat Farmer S Vance (12.3) in the fifth round; Vance in the second round secured a 'crucifix hold on Alley, which resulted in his being awarded a 'fall. In the fifth round, Alley got in l three rabbit punches, and then spun Vance Through the air, throwing him heavily. Vance was carried to his corner, and was unable to proceed, the towel being thrown in when the gong sounded for the sixth round. The rabbit punch was allowed, but most of the crowd hooted Alley. The contest was the best seen here so far.
A COMING BOUT. AUCKLAND, Nov. 12. 'l’lie New Zealand Wrestling Association lias received advice from. John Pesek, who claims the heavyweight championship of the world, that hwill meet George Walker, the heavyweigt champion of Canada, in Auckland next Monday night. Pesek is travelling . .from Sydney to Vancouver by the “Aorangi,” which is due at Auckland on Monday mornling.
