Although reliable information is unobtainable in regard to the situation iti Honan province owing to the strict Government censorship, it is believed that Ithe Government are engaged in a life and death struggle with tlie rebellious Kuominchun. forces under the notorious Fengvuhsiang, China’s untamable War Lord, and
that Hankow' district is absolutely denuded of itroops. Government troops under Kuominchun . are facing the line extending from Milisieu to Tijngfung and Peking-Hankow railway track. Nanking divisions are occupying fpont positions. The casualties on both sides are mounting rap--1 idly. General Chiangkaishek is personally directing the Government ' forces. ’ He admits the situation is serious to the present Government’s existence. : '
