VTCAR’S WTFE AS GYPSY.

LIVERPOOL. Sept. 24. Mrs Arthur Wvkes. the wife of the vicar of St. Stephen’s ("’Lurch, Edge Hill, is touring the parish dressed as a gypsy and with a barrel-organ drawn by a Shetland pony to raise money for renovating the church dav schools. The Rev. Arthur E. Wvkes is absent on holiday and knows nothing of bis wife’s scheme. She intends to invite him to he. present on Wednesday week, when Air O. F. Aloft, the Director of Education for Liverpool, will open the money-box she carries on Die organ. Tt is a specially made metal cylinder three feet high. Airs Wvkes has two assistants—Air Frank Cartlan, a server of St. Stephen’s Church, who collects the money, and a little coloured hov. a chorister, who loads the pony.
