INDECENT ASSAULT
INDIAN DOCTOR CHARGED

AUCKLAND, Nov. 7
Sobbing bitterly lit intervals during evidence a young woman sat in the witness box of the Supreme Court this morning and- told the story of an alleged indecent assault by a weii known Indian Doctor, Balder Singh share.
Not guilty said Share in a firm voice when the charge of indecent assault on a female was read. The case was beard by 'Air Justice Herdman.
The accused was represented by Messrs Singer and Ale-Lever. The Crown Prosecutor, Air Alereditli, said Share, under the guise of a l.onalkle examination, indecently handled the girl and misconducted himself towards her. This girl, he said, is 28 years of age, and medical evidence shows that she is a virgin. She is a- decent living girl morally and tliq girl is innocent in those mat<ws. There is a confidence placed in doctors bv all of us. We trust ourselves. our wives and our children with medical men. \Vnmen allow doctors to carry out very intimate examinitins and tTmt is why girls can very easily he -deceived by such men. After the evidence of the principle witnesses Air Singer asked that before her cross-examination, the jury should see. the room where it was alleged that the offence was committed .
His Honour agreed but Air AlerofJ i tli said lie understood something had been done to the door.
Air Singer said the room itself was the same as on September 96th.
