Tlie wedding took place on Tuesday morning at Sc. Patrick’s Cliuich, Grevrnouth, of Patricia-, youngest daughter of Mr G. A. AVebster, of Greymouth, to James, fourth son of Mr and Mrs Colin Macfarlgne, of Hokiy tika. The Rev. Father Holohaif officiated. The bride wore a frock of pink georgette trimmed with pearls, and a hat- io match, and she carried a white shower bouquet. lhc-brides-maids, Alisses .Millie Carruthers and Margaret Aiae-farlano, wore green and mauve georgette respectively, with hats to tone. Miss Lola Curtis, niece of the bride, was flower-girl. Air Jack Afa-cfarlane was best man, and All* Macfarlane was groomsman. The new-ly-married couple loft foi’ Dunedin.
On Saturday evening a meeting of directors of the AVe-tland AA’ood Pulp Company was held here to further the interests of the proposition.' Air H. R. Young, of AVestnort chairman of directors, presided, and Air J. Alarris, acting Secretary of the Company, * attended from Christchurch. A quantity of business was dealt with, and the local directors, Messrs D. P. Stufirt, J. J. Mclntosh and D. J. Evans, were deputed to make enquiries in respect to a site in or ad.aeent to the town for the operation's of the Company when established At present a report is being awaited from the engineering expert in New York who is advising the Company as to the method of procedure, and on reve rt of this information a further meeting will be held. Meantime, preliminary enquiry is being made from adjacent sawmills as to the supply of waste maternal from the mills or the bush suitable for pulping, and a large snpplv of soft woods it is nntir-ipMod will lie readily available and railable to the works.
