The threatened political gale over the Indian question Inis died more or less into a' gentle zephyr. Week-end threats that a censure vote of the views of extreiner politicians might even lead to defeat of the Government, are likely to come to nothing. It is learned that Mr Baldwin has decided not to oppose, lienee the Conservative position on Thursday will he one of approval of Lord Irwin’s declaration, modified by regret that it was made without consultation with the Simon Commission.
"Even allowing for dissatisfaction of the various party groups, Mr MacDonald, supported by Mr Baldwin, can afford to ignore the Liberals. The only real danger apparently comes from the Government’s own party, a section whereof nr eaunoyed at the possibility of the domestic programme being held up.
