TAYO YEARS’ PROBATION
NAPIER,’ November 5.
In the Supreme Court Harold Septimus Rose pleaded guilty to breaking and entering with intent. He received two years’ probation and was ordered to make restitution and pay the costs of prosecution.

PALMERSTON N., November 5,
Last week Charles Robertson, a commercial traveller, was acquitted on a charge of negligently driving a: motor car so as to cause the death of James Robert Symonds, a bridge keeper employed by the Public Works Department on Manawatu Gorge bridge. This morning at the Supreme Court before Justice Blair a civil action was heard in which deceased’s widow, Elsie Evelyn AJay Symonds, claimed from Robertson and Diabolo Separator Co., trading as New Zealand Farm Separator Coy., £2,000. The court awarded £IBOO and assessed the widow’s interest at one-third, the remainder to be held in trust for the children, except the eldest who is over sixteen. ,
