Messrs M, Houston'and Co. report:
At yesterday’s sale\at. the above yards we submitted 150 fat sheep' and 49 head of fat cattle to competition. There was only a moderate attendance of buyers and as the total yarding was a fairly heavy one, there was a decided drop in prices; fat cattle showed a decline of fully 7t)s per head on the extreme prices that have been ruling of late, nevertheless the sale must be' considered good 'for this period of the year. Ox beef averaged about 45s per hundred, heifer and cow beef from 40s to 455.
