WASHINGTON, November 4. ( fly 54 to 22 the Senate officially censured Senator Hiram Bingham, of Connecticut, a Republican, for the secret employment of an agent of the Connecticut Manufacturers Association to assist him in connection with t. e pending tariff bill. The blow was softened, however, when an amendment was also adoptee! stating the employment of an agent was not the result of eoiiupt motives on the part of the Scnatoi. The resolution does not call for Bingham’s resignation and is only an expression, since in the Senate, Bingham declared he has no intention of resigning.
