COMPULSORY STOP
A CHARG'D DISMISSED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 4. Magistrate E. C, Levvey dismissed a charge against Herbert Bertram •Veitcli, of failing to observe a compulsory stop notice at Harewood Road railway mossing. J. S. Hawkes (Secretary of tlie Automobile Association) said be did not think the Department had given much thought to the question of the placing of notices, 'these were not necessary at certain pl'ccs ineb’ding Harewood Road. The Magistrate said he had inspected a number of crossings and did not think the stop notices were being placed to the host advantage of the public. The best way to bring the matter under the notice of the Railway Department was to d'smiss the case.
