ALLEGED THREAT TU SHOOT PEER Mrs Margaret Carey, a publican, of Silverinine, was remanded on bail at a special court at Nenagh, Co. Tipperary when charged with sending a letter toi Lord Dunatley, of Kilboy, Nenagh, Co. /ICpperary, and threatening to shoot him and burn his mansion and demanding £SO which was to be ltift in a place indicated in the- letter, Lord Dunalley it was stated on receipt of the. letter sent £-50 by his chauffeur, who left it . on the steps of Mrs Carey’s house. At. the same time the civic guards were informed of the receipt of the letter, and Sergeant Lynch, of the local station kept watch on Mrs Carey’s house. The sergeant alleged that he observed a customer pick up the parcel of money and go into Mrs Carey’s shop. He immediately entered and succeeded in getting the £SO from Mrs Carey, whom he placed under arrest.
