The Commission investigating the possibility of providing econoinic employment for exrservicemen resumed the sitting this morning. Tannock (Superintendent of City Reserves), said returned men had been employed under his supervision and he found them particularly anx-. ious to work. He had organised poultry keeping, beekeeping, and vegetable growing and found men willing to learn. If anything could be dqne in tho matter of employing men at seed raising, he would be pleased to give assistance. Seed iaising could be carried out in New Zealand just, as well as in Denmark, Holland, Italy, Spain and other European countries. In such , a scheme a number of skilled men .would he necessary. Men coming to him now were just as keen as those of years past. He advocated the establishment of villages where men would have their own homes and plots. A central "farm would do the experimental work and supply ’individuals, who would supply the markets. He woufid endorse any gerHral Government poliev which had the development of afforestation. The Government had established domains in vanv New Zealand towns which were liabilities rather than assets. if these areas were planted they would gradually increase in value.
