THUNDERBOLTS.

PAR'S, Sept. 18. A violent thunderstorm, accompanied by torrential rain, "broke over Paris at 10.30 to-night. A large number of cellars were flooded, and tne Paris fire brigade was soon attending to calls to pump out the water. Thunderbolts fell at several points, but no serious material damage was caused. Thunderstorms and floods have been snorted from, all over France, from the vine districts in the south to the Brittany coast in the north-west. In the neighbourhood of Dinard ’ and along the north-west coast with its resorts well known to British visitors, the storm hurst with exceptional severity. At St. Brieuc the lower parts of the town were flooded and the fire brigade was unable to cope with the calls on its services. The town is without gas owing to the flooding of the gasworks. Several .mills at Din an were flooded and oertsed work. A number of roads have been cut bv the floods', but so far no serious accidents have been reported. At Granville last night there was dft. of water in the Rne Pierre Yvon. At Contanres the flood water cause' 1 the colapse of a house. At Ft. Mnlo people were driven from then- bn"’es. who took refuge in the upper floors of their houses had to he rescued by soldiers in boats.
