SHOW BOAT’S WORLD TOUR. Many will watch with interest the voyages of the German “ show boat 1 , which is to start next year on a Vorld tour. A ship is being fitted up as a theatre, and a repertory of German plays is being selected. These will be acted by a distinguished company, and thus the drama of the.past and present will be introduced to audiences in many parts of the globe. In London, for example, the Pro Arte, as the ship is called, will come up the Thames as far as theatreland,,.and will, no doubt, attract big “ saloons ” (we cannot say “big houses’’). This goes one better or several better, than the Italian travelling theatre, which does not aim at going beyond the borders of Italy.
