-GREEN ISLAND AIR PORT OPENED. i,By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, October 22. The arrival of an Avro-Avian plane, piloted by Captain George Bolt, at Otago Aero Club’s, landing ground at Glreen Island this morning, created wide interest in Dunedin. This is the first occasion on which aircraft has landed at the Club’s airport. The plane was officially welcomed by the Mayor of Green Island (Mr 0. Smillie), the Mayor of Dunedin (Mr R. S. Black), and officials of the Aero Club.. Mr H. M. Mac Kay (Secretary of the Club) made the initial flight from the airport, and was taken over the city and suburbs by Captain Bolt. The plane will remain for a fortnight to promote interest in the Otago Aero Club.
