MR BRUCE DEFEATED. LABOUR’S BIG MAJORITY. (Australian Press Association) (Received this day at 8 p.m.) MELBOURNE, October 18. Although the result is not being announced until to-morrow, Mr Bruce is definitely defeated by the Labourite, Mr Holloway. The Labour Party now holds fortythreje seats and should gain three more before the end of the week leaving them with a clear majority of more than twenty, apart from the independents who may number five.
