RECAPTURED. A COSTLY BATTLE. (United Press Association—By Electric . Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 8 a.m.) SHANGHAI, October 17. Assumiingj the offensive Chinese forces recaptured Lahasusu from the Soviet military which was attacked and occupied on Monday as reported from Harbin. Lahasusu battle was the bloodiest of any ,Sino-Soyiet engagement. Chinese losses are estimated at a thousand kiled and wounded and the Soviet losses are believed to be equally heavy. Gunboats, airplanes, infantry, cavalry, artillery participated. Two Soviet planes crashed.
