A BODY FOUND. (Australian Press Association) (Received this day at noon.) SYDNEY, October 16. The pilot of the steamer Captain Cook recovered the decomposed body of a man floating off the Gap. One possibility may be that of Clifford Treloar, who disappeared so mysteriously about two months ago. The relatives will see the body to-day. At the same time an old man, apparently with suicidal tendencies was prevented from going over the Gap.
DANGEROUS MAN AT LARGE. PERTH, October 16. Edward Kelly, 54, a murderer and. lunatic, who escaped from the Claremont Asylum on October Bth is still at liberty. The “Daily News” published - a remarkable letter signed by Kelly, which the police state, is - genuine, havjing <exam;ineid -the ifinjger prints on the paper. The letter states three little girls have been feeding him nightly during his hiding, knowing who he was, and lie promised ‘ them he would return in consequence of their kindness and their promise to visit him; The writer stated only on condition that the letter be published would he return to the asylum. According to the letter Kelly, dressed as an old woman, visited the Royal Show.
