N.S.W. FLOODS
STORMS ON THE TASMAN. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, October 14. Rain has fallen almost continuously along the New South AVales coast for the past fifty hours. The rivers are now rising everywhere, and there is a grave danger of flooding. The whole of the flats along the Hunter River above Newcastle are under water. The township of Wallsend is threatened. Portions of Windsor are' also endangered. Afore rain is predicted, and also storms in Tasman Sea.
HAWKESBURY BREAKS BANKS
(Received this day at 12.25. p.m.) SYDNEY, October 15.
Over ten thousand acres of flat country near Windsor are covered by,..flood waters as a result of the Hawkesbury river breaking its banks. The damage to the crops is very heavy. Many homes are threatened and stock has ■been moved to the higher levels. The river is twenty-six feet above the summer level and is still rising. Roads are blocked, bridges being under water. 1
The State Meteorologist says floods ore likely in all coastal rivers, as further heavy rrfin is expected.
