BRITAIN AND SOUTH AMERICA. TRADE MUST BE RECIPROCAL. '. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 11. ’ Lord, Dabernon, head of the British Economic Mission to South America, is, with the assistance of his colleagues on the mission, preparing a reply lor the President of the Board of Tradp, on the development of trade between Britain and the countries visited. In an interview on his arrival in England yesterday, he paid a tribute to the far-seeing and practical outlook of the statesmen of the Sou ;h American countries. The basis of business between Britain and South America, he said, must be reciprocal. COAL MARKETING. CONTROL OF OUTPUT AND PRICES. RUGBY, October 10, Coalowners met yesterday and considered the final draft of the scheme for the co-ordination of district marketing^, under which output and prices will be limited.
Almost the whole of the country will be covered by the schemes of the Central Co-ordinating Committee. The newspapers state that the scheme will be submitted to the Government next, week, when a . further meeting between the coalowners and the Government, in connexion with the projected legislation, will be held.
Conversations with the miners’ representatives are also still proceeding, and yesterday the whole situation in the mining industry was further reviewed at a meeting between members of the Government, headed by the Lord Privy Seal, Mr .T.
