WOMAN STABBED.

BRIGHTON, 'August 26. Alice Wood, or O’Grady, aged 43, was found lying in Cannon-lane, Brighton, late on Saturday night with a knife-wdlind in the back. She is now in the hospital in a critical condition. Wood, a native of Liverpool, left an address in Cavendish-street a week ago, but her movements since then are unknown. A woman called Murray has tojd the police that she and Wood met two men in Upper Russell-street soon after 10 o’clock on Saturday night. The police are anxious to interview one of the men who was seen to run away at the moment Wood collapsed. He is described as aged 27-30, height sft. Tin., thin features, and wearing a grey suit. Detective-Inspector Taylor, Chief of the Brighton 0.1. D., would like to see two men who, he believes, had just left Wood and Murray when a third man attacked Wood.
