GUN BATTLE

POLICE V. BANDITS. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) NEW YORK, October 9. Two are dead a.nd three wounded as the toll of some shooting between the police and Chicago criminals when the former went to-night to arrest the perpetrators of the robbery at the Palm Garden Roadhouse, that was cabled on October 7th. That picturesque hold-up was executed by a wellknown gang, and the police swooped down upon their home. Sergeant Leo Fox, of the Lansing Police, was killed, and the other bullet. victim was Walter Warzinsky, aged 22 years, a bandit leader. The police bombarded the robbers’ rooms with machine guns.
