£350 DAMAGES
HEAVY TRAFFIC ON ROADS. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association). WAIPUKURAU, Oct. 10. A case in which the Waipawa County Council claimed, under se'Lion 173 of the Public Works Act, from Charles McLeod, trading as the Waipawa Timber Coy., £350 damage to roads caused by carting heavy logs during winter months when the roads were closed to heavy traffic, was finalised at the Waipawa Magistrate’s Court this morning, when Mr Mosley, S.M., delivered judgment in favour of the complainants for the amount claimed, plus £2 os 4d, witnesses’ expenses, £3 3s solicitors’ fees, and court costs 10s. As the matter is of importance to sawmillers generally, an appeal will be made against the Magistrate’s decision.
