EMPIRE CONFERENCE
AN (EXPLANATION. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, October 7. The Dominions office points out that there is some confusion in the public mind between, to-morrow’s Empire. Constitutional Conference and the Economic Conference. Although both are subsidiaries of the Imperial Conference, they have different functions. and probably a different personnel. To-morrow*’si conference is dealing solely with constitutional and legal matters and although Lord Passfield (Colonial Secretary) will preside, Mr Jowett (Attorney-General) will probably deliver the opening address and formulate tlio line of procedure. The Economic Conference will probably he held immediately antecedent to the Imperial Conference in 1930, and will include Imperial and Dominions Ministers. The Dominions Office is unable to confirm the promise made by the ,Pt. Hon. J. H. Thomas that the Imperial Conference, would he held 'in Canada, because the place ef meeting is dependent on its unanimous ' concurrence of the Dominion* and they at present favour London,
