THIEVES’ HAUL. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, Oct, 9. On the return of the manager of the Newtoun branch of the Commercial Bank of Australia, it was found that the sum stolen by safe breakers tlur ing the week-end was £2,700. The heat, generated by oxv-acetylene gas, used in cutting open the back of the safe was so great that the ledgers inside were charred.
