LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP. THE FINAL, (By Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, October 3. In the Ladies’ Championship final, Miss Kay was one up against Mrs Dodgshun, at the end of the first eighteen holes. Airs Dodgshun and Miss Kay started the final of th© New Zealand ladies championship in perfect weather. Miss Kay was one up at the end of the * first eighteen holes. So far the match has been a, splendid one with Miss Kay. leading all the waj r , but never by more than two up. Mrs Dodgshun was two down after the I.6th hole, but took the' next and barely missed squaring tile match at the 18th hole' where she lipped the hole with a sixteen foot putt.
MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. SEMI-FINALS. WANGANUI, October 3. Fine weather prevails for the continuation of the golf championships to-day when the semi-finals of the amateur championship are being played. The following are, the positions at the end cif the first 18 holes:— J. L. Black 6 up on A. G. Sime. S. Morpeth and L; Cathro all square.
