Eighteen started, including Crown Area and Royal Duke. Won by, half a length. Time 1.25, which equals the course record established by Amoumis in August, 1926. Oilmens.—Pharlap 8.5 1, Lorason 8.5 2, Holdfast 8.5 3. Twelve started. Won easily by three lengths. Time 1.52. Cup.—Spearman 7.3 1, The Banker 8.5 2, Eden Hall 7.12 3. >. Also started: Limerick 9.0, Aussie 9.0, Amounts 9.0, Gathmar 7.12. Mollison was the first away, then Aussie made the pace a cracker to the half mile, loading by more than a length. At the straight Mollison and Winalot were almost up to Aqssie, who was displaced at the distance. Winalot scored by three-quarters of a length, with Niehtmarch half a. length behind Mollison. Aussie was fourth. Time Limerick was last all the way, and pulled up lame. A veterinary surgeon’s examination disclosed that the trouble was a suspensory ligament off the foreleg. Highweight Handicap (first division). —King William 8.6 1, Field Artillery 8.13 2, Venetian Lady 9.12 3. Eighteen started, including Gesto, Raceland and True Shaft. Won by a short neck. Time 1.26 J. Highweight Handicap (second division). —Raisin 8.13 1, Ulah 8.5 2, Somnolent 8.5 3. Nineteen started, including Bright Glow, High Disdain and Becalmed. Won bv a head; Bright Glow fourth. Time 1.26£.
