A FIRE
IN PALACE THEATRE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Sept, 23. A fire in Palace Theatre just previously to opening time on Saturday caused serious damage to the dress oirrle in particular and binding generally. Extensive repairs will necessitate the theatre being cjosed for some . time. The building was owned hv W. Carr and leased to Thomas A. O’Brien, Theatres Ltd., Auckland, who also leases His Majesty’s. The operating box and plant escaped damage. The cause is unknown but an incipient fire in the same place was discovered a fortnight ago. Insurances at present are unavailable.
